Cryptocurrency exchange Gate.io this Sunday, as expected, launched trading with its own Gatechain Token (GT).

Trades are carried out in GT / USDT and GT / BTC pairs. Compared to the price during the main part of the campaign, the GT rate rose by about one and a half times.



The GT token will become the native currency of the upcoming Gatechain blockchain. It will also be used to participate in initial exchange placements on Gate.io's own platform.

Gate.io previously announced its first IEO, which will be hosted by CNNS and kicks off in less than 20 hours.

The exchange also named a second project for the IEO. The campaign is being organized in partnership with DREP, a startup focused on creating tools for developers of decentralized applications, with which they can effortlessly release their own assets in various chains, create wallets and trading platforms. IEO DREP is set for April 25.
